I wake beside you,
a bad dream staining
my skin with grave-cold sweat.
In the dark
I reach out my hand,
find the curve
of your hip.
With the reassurance of your breathing,
and the sensation of your skin,
I fall back into sleep.
gentle and loving,
like the dreams
I dream of you.
