Three Poems – Connor Orrico

Anurag Bhatty Do You Fear The Sleepless Nights Calm Photography ...

Sleepless

monsters
nightly –
paroxysm
of language
languish –
maelstroms
made
in my mind
sentence
my spirit
to the bonds
of a body
without
a name

Healing/Haunted

remembering the ghosts of joy
offers ephemeral escape
but is its sweetness worth the pain
of tearing out sutures again

Worn Soul

sleep is a stranger
on the overnight train
passing these worn soles
wandering in the night
